How to Connect Reddit or X to Wire Wallet

Wire Wallet lets you optionally connect your Reddit or X (formerly Twitter) account to unlock community features, earn badges, participate in campaigns, and sync your social identity across the wallet experience. Connecting a social account is completely optional and does not affect your wallet security or custody. Wire Wallet never has access to your social passwords or private messages.

How to Connect Your Reddit Account

1. Go to Profile → Connected Accounts

You’ll see a list of supported social platforms.

2. Tap Connect Reddit

Wire Wallet will redirect you to the official Reddit OAuth login.

3. Authorize Wire Wallet

Reddit will show you the exact permissions requested.
Typically these include:

  • Basic account info

  • Username

  • Subreddits you follow or belong to (if needed for campaigns)

Wire Wallet cannot post on your behalf unless you explicitly take an action within the wallet to do so.

4. Return to Wire Wallet

Your Reddit account is now linked and ready for community features.

How to Connect Your X (Twitter) Account

1. Go to Profile → Connected Accounts

Select Connect X.

2. Authenticate via X OAuth

You will be redirected to X to approve the integration.

3. Review Permissions

X may provide Wire Wallet with:

  • Your public profile

  • Your username and follower count

  • Ability to verify likes, follows, or posts for campaigns

Wire Wallet never gains your password or access to private messages.

4. Complete the connection

Once approved, you’ll return to the app with your account linked.

What Does Wire Wallet Do With Social Data?

Only the minimum data required to power community features is used.
Examples include:

  • Verifying you follow a subreddit

  • Checking whether you liked or reposted content

  • Confirming participation in a campaign

  • Displaying your username or badges inside communities

Wire Wallet does not:

  • Read private messages

  • Post automatically

  • Access your email

  • Track unrelated social activity

  • Share your identity without your permission

You can unlink accounts at any time.

Security and Privacy

Wire Wallet uses OAuth, the industry-standard secure login method.
This ensures:

  • You stay in control of permissions

  • No passwords are shared

  • You can revoke access at any time

  • Your wallet remains non-custodial and unaffected

Your assets and private keys are always isolated from social integrations.

How to Disconnect Reddit or X

1. Go to Profile → Connected Accounts

2. Tap Disconnect on the platform you want to remove

3. Confirm the action

Your account will be unlinked instantly, and associated features will be paused.

Troubleshooting Social Connections

You may run into issues such as:

  • OAuth login not loading

  • Permission screen not showing

  • Campaign actions not verifying

  • Sessions expiring

To resolve:

  • Check your internet connection

  • Make sure you're logged into the correct Reddit/X account

  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

  • Ensure the social app’s API isn’t experiencing outages
